Ricardo Napoli is a photographer and videographer. His photographic works can been seen in books and magazines worldwide, including publications in United States, Brazil, Japan, Germany, and many other countries.
Native to Brazil but based in New York City, Napoli draws creative energy from his surroundings and documents his experiences in photographs that capture movement, juxtaposition, humanity, and the emotional essence of his adopted city. In the December 2013 issue, Vista Art Magazine published photographs along with an interview about Napoli's everyday experiences and process behind his work. Through his unique perspective and insight into his subject matter, Napoli's compositions convey a poetry that celebrates an underlying sub-culture that is a constant source of inspiration for him. in 2016, Napoli was invited to take part in the first "Adidas Art Show" in New York City, where a selection of his skateboard photographs and portraits was exhibited.
Taking a departure from photography, Napoli released a full length film called "Making It Happen' in 2017, an skateboard film inspired by New York City and the diverse mix of culture and talent that the city gathers from around the globe. Directed exclusively and filmed in parts by Napoli, "Making It Happen" features the different styles and personalities of skaters from New York City locals to visitors from around the world. The film was first premiered at Cinema Olido in Sao Paulo, Brazil, it was screened in many other countries, and featured at the Mimpi Surf and Skate Film Festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2017.
